Bowl Hand
I have problems with my bowling hand, does anyone know anything about what could cause the sharp pain?
I’ve had this problem for years. A little background, I’m a fingertip bowler, so that means that I stick my thumb all the way into the ball, but my middle and ring fingers only go into up to that first joint. So a few years ago I was bowling normally and then I got a sharp pain in my ring finger. I don’t know what caused it, but since then I tend to barely stick my ring finger in the ball. Sometimes though I accidentally put it in a little more and the pain comes back and it hurts. Every time it happens it hurts more and more. I have a problem with this finger in that unlike the other joints, it does not bend back at all. If you look at your other fingers, at that first joint they will bend back slightly. Mine will not. Could that be related?
And as a side question, yesterday I think I pulled some muscles in my middle and ring finger. Any ideas about how to relieve that pain?
It’s not really one side of the finger. It’s just the whole tip that hurts right after I release it.
is it specifically on one side or the other of your ring finger? because the median nerve effects the thumb to the side of the ring finger; and the ulna nerve the other side and the pinky. that would narrow down if it’s the nerve, or tendonitis, or some other problem
